Canned Soup

Thread Starter
We can make this a canned soup discussion thread.

Favorite Brand? Favorite type of soup?

I recently acquired many cans of Cream of Mushroom soup and I'm pretty sure everyone has their canned soup recipe. For me it's just getting some pasta, maybe some chicken and some parmesan cheese on top. Maybe some toast on the side to dip if I"m extra hungry.

Amy's Organic is the only canned soup I eat. I like the Southwestern Fire Roasted Veggie or whatever it's called

I usually have Campbell's Chunky Beef with Country Vegetable Soup in my pantry.

I think this thread also needs to include discussion of can openers, the most important kitchen tool for this type of food.

If you've got a lot of cream of mushroom, here's a good way to use some of it: Easy Crawfish Etouffee Ingredients: 1 lb. crawfish tails 1 medium onion chopped 1 small bell pepper chopped 1 stalk celery chopped 1 squirt ketchup 1 squirt mustard 1 can golden mushroom soup 1 can cream of mushroom soup Salt, Pepper, Cajun Seasonings ½ stick butter Method: Sauté onions, bell peppers and celery in melted butter until tender. Sprinkle in salt, pepper and Cajun seasonings. Stir in soups and crawfish tails. Simmer over medium-low heat for 30 minutes. Add ketchup and mustard. (Can use more if needed.) Simmer for 10-15 minutes more. Serve over hot cooked rice. Enjoy! *I used 1 bag of seasoning blend in place of onion, bell pepper and celery.

Ive been eating Cambell's V8 soups in a box...they're pretty good, high in sodium about 480mg but other than that healthy I guess ....Butternut Squash and Southwestern Corn my favs. I can't be arsed to make homemade soup, just heat this up and Im good to go with some tilapia. boom! dinner is served.

I like Campbells Cream of Mushroom, preferably with bread broken up into it.
Also, their Old-Fashioned Tomato Rice brings back childhood memories, but it's not so easy to find any more.

Canned split pea soup is usually almost as good as any other split pea soup (in other words, delicious)
