I'm surprised there isn't a thread for such a staple.

I hate buying bread because nobody can make it right (except for Reinecker's German breads), so I make it myself.

Today I made Abruzzese potato bread (pane di patate).

It's a denser bread made by the hillbillies of Italy (about 30% potatoes, 70% wheat flour and sometimes made with whole wheat). Thick, crusty crust that allows it to both be played like a drum and eaten like bread. Pairs well with wild boar and **** red.

Looks great why. Also, great topic for a thread. Once, I would have added to this thread, but I am hereby ignoring and boycotting this thread.

He musta been a chubby chaser. Cutting out the corpus has greatly diminished mine.

This is my immediate food related goal. Unfortunately my kitchen isn't great or even good.

I've tried and tried to make breads. I just can't seem to do it unless I cheat and use a bread machine.

Which makes me wonder if perhaps my oven isn't functioning 100% or something, or if I'm just a really bad baker.

Typical home ovens suck for baking bread, but it can be done.

BTW, my bad luck with baking extends to pizza as well. Pizza dough is really simple to make, but I just never have a crust turn out well.

Either you don't like dutch crunch (impossible) or you have no idea what I'm talking about. I'll assume it's the latter.

I was making a sub par joke. Included in my post was an Urban dictionary link. Doesn't show, though. Did indeed not know what it was. I looked it up since I always wonder how things get their name, i.e. Brussels sprouts, French (now FREEDOM) fries, going Dutch, Dutch crunch, etc.
