Mixed bag. Much like IRL.

Wasn't bad. I was in undergrad and a buddy of mine "introduced" me to a girl he knew that was a new freshman that he figured I'd like. By introduced I mean he helped us exchange email addresses and chat screen names. This was before everyone had a cell phone. We talked online for a little bit, switched to the phone, and then went out on a date that weekend.

Yes, several times. Some have been scary (notably, when a friend tried hooking me up with one of their friends). Most of the time things are ok, just so long as you are not stuck just talking about what the initial interest was that made you two meet online in the first place.

Indeed. Was chatting with Fashionista for ages on an internet forum and didn't even realize who she was when I first met her. Love at first sight, in retrospect.

yes, dated a girl for a while I met on myspace years back

Yes, but most of it doesn't really count. I wouldn't consider exchanging messages on facebook with randomly paired roommates (for residence at school) and people who are going to be going into your major as people you met on the internet. I have met some friend of friends who added me on facebook who I met later, but nothing noteworthy.
