Edith and the Kingpin

I don't know what it is about this song...but it draws me with each listen. It was, obviously, written by Joni Mitchell. The definitive Joni version is off of a live 1980 album, Shadows and Light. It featured her best band: Michael Brecker, Jaco Pastorius, Pat Metheny, etc. Talk about an all-star cast. EDIT: Just found the Shadows performance. Fucking great. This is a cover by Tina Turner and Herbie Hancock. From Herbie's Grammy-winning "River: The Joni Letters." This song SMOKES. Really sexy. Most reviewers peg this as the best song on the album and it probably is. Possibly better than the original, and I'm not saying that simply because I love T.T. Elvis Costello has a version but it's quite bad IMO. Anyways, such a great song.
