Some info on EG Shirts (from my reply to a question).
hey, what's your take on EG shirts? i'm thinking about picking one up, but is it worth the premium? do you find it strange they don't button all the way down-----pullover?
They've done several styles of shirts. Previous seasons have been the 19th BD shirts, which don't button all the way down. I've tried some on and I have to agree with you that it's a little wierd having they only button down to about 2/3rds of the way down. This seasons shirts, the Newton shirt, which both Hejfina and Peasant have available, and the flannel workshirts go down almost all the way. The bottom button on those are at about the waist for me (5'9").
One of the main reasons I like their shirts is the cut at the bottom: how the opening on the sides go up so high the roundness of the front and back.
And also note that the Newton shirt is a spread collar vs. the 19th BD shirts are usually button downs, so it's up to you on which you prefer. You could always have an extra button added to the bottom of the 19th BD shirts, like how the Japanese brand Haversack has done with these (bottom left, and check out that collar in the top left, pretty sweet. These run about 5,000 Yen cheaper than EG, but you'll have to go overseas):
In order to find the BD shirts though you might have to go overseas, or if you call MAC (which is where I tried on the BD shirts) in San Francisco they should have some left in white and maybe in other colors.
As for the fit, their definitely boxy, not as slim and fitted as say Band of Outsiders/Trovata, but their plaid patterns can't be beat.
