I will third Cantler's. Come support my city

Count another vote for Cantler's. It should be warm enough in April to sit outside. It's off the beaten path and not a tourist trap like Obrycki's in downtown Baltimore. Plus Obrycki's does not use Old Bay on their crabs which makes that place sort of antithetical.

If you do venture to Baltimore I highly recommend the Faidley's crab cake in the Lexington Market. You should go at lunch time. That neighborhood is not a place to be when the sun goes down. The Faidley's crab cake is just delicious. Get the jumbo lump crab cake. If you want a sit-down restaurant for this type of fair, Mama's on the Half Shell is worthwhile and won't disappoint; however, the best restaurant in Baltimore is Charleston - but that is top cuisine and worth every penny.

Obrycki's is touristy but the crabs are decent and their black pepper seasoning is an authentic Old Baltimore thing and they are pretty much the only place that still does them that way. Bill's Terrace Inn and Costa's are the general consensus for best crabs in Crabtown. They use Gulf crabs year-round, but Gulf and Carolina crabs are pretty much all you will get anywhere in April. I have my favorite crab house on the water with local crabs but have been sworn to secrecy. Cantler's is a nice location but the crabs are meh. Buddy's is forgettable.

I don't remember the name, but the place I usually go is in Bethesda. Not all you can eat, that I recall, but reasonable price for a big bucket of blue crab.

Col. Hans Landa: [giddy] That's a bingo! [Aldo and Utivich stare at him in confusion] Col. Hans Landa: Is that the way you say it? "That's a bingo?" Lt. Aldo Raine: You just say "bingo". Col. Hans Landa: Ahhh! BINGO! How fun! But, I digress. Where were we?

The Crab Deck on Kent Island is great when the weather is nice. I try and go a few times each summer. It's about an hour from the Bethesda area.

There are a bunch of small restaurants on both sides of the street. On one side there is Domino Pizza and a jewish restaurant. The other side was a mediterranean restaurant and a seafood place. The seafood restaurant has a wood interior. I never ate there, so I cant tell you if its good or bad or if they have all-you-can-eat crabs. But my info is very old. I left D.C. 6 years ago.
It's called The Dancing Crab. Pretty decent. http://dcseafood.com/dancingcrab/menu.php All you can eat is $29 Sunday through Thursday, and $39 Friday and Saturday. I've had good experiences the few times I've been there. They have since remodeled the inside. I think they made the bar area larger.

Fun place, but the crabs are meh. Will not be so fun in April unless you get a really unseasonably warm day.
