Boston in 3 days

Staying in Boston for a few days in May. A few questions:

1) Looking for hotel recommendations that would be nice, but not Four Seasons/Mandarin Orinetal level. Currently looking at Nine Zero, Fairmont Battery Wharf, The Colonnade. Walking to shopping/eating/some sights would be nice, though we will have a car. Also relatively close to the interstates, as I'll be going to Lowell for a day.

2) Any art gallery/dining recommendations?

3) How realistic is going to a Sox game without paying thru the nose...

you can find cheaper sox tix but the seats will not be great. If you don't mind seating that is not as "good" I would look at bleacher seats which can be fun.

Another option would be to go to the Bleacher bar (which is accessed from outside the stadium).

If you know one of the players family, it's pretty easy to get in at Fenway. But if you cant, there's always Cask and Flagon

You can get Red Sox tickets on stubhub/ebay....I have had luck waiting 'til the last minute...went to Yanks/Sox 2 summers ago, ESPN Sun night game, rain delay, started close to 9pm...scalpers sold us $65 seats for $75...they were asking $200 a few hours prior. In any event, if its not a premium game, the tickets won't be that hard to get.

MFA (Museum of Fine Arts) is nice, you can drive out to my alma matter, Brandeis, and see the Rose Art Museum before they sell it...or make better use of the time and see Lexington/Concord.

Don't forget the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, it's within a few blocks of the MFA. I'm on one of its boards.
