What's with all the "Appreciation" threads?

Man, it's really starting to annoy me. I see the word "Appreciation" in a thread title, and I expect to see some naked hot chick holding a pair of Marteganis. When I excitedly click on the thread (wondering if maybe that hot chick will even be kinda "teen" looking), and only see a bunch of admittedly very sexy shoes, I totally feel ripped off.

Am I the only one who thinks the term "Appreciation" should be reserved for naked women and/or animals (if you're into that sort of thing)?

And next time I click on one of those "Appreciation" threads, I expect to see someone's naked girlfriend showing off their latest watch purchase. I wanna see some boobies with those shoes/watches/scarves/ties/buttons/socks/whatever!!!

Context dude!

If you want naked girls, dont come onto sf. Afterall, it is a forum about (albeit questionable) 'fashion'.

According to Wikipedia, "Pornography or Appreciation is the depiction of... subject matter for the purposes of sexual excitement."

Isn't it clear that vintage Omega watches sexually excite people on MC?

I don't think the two are mutually exclusive. After all, there are very few things in life more wonderful than some sexy thang tied up with a Kiton 7-fold. Or some tattooed punk-rawk hottie holding a pair of wingtips to her naked breast.

I was actually hoping people would take this post as a challenge to post pictures of hot naked chicks posing by shoes, ties, or whatever. I've got a few on my camera. Perhaps I should start the thread off with a couple? (Would I get banned?)

Never been a Sesame Street fan, couldn't tell ya. But judging by your avatar, I'd say perhaps you could tell me.

Appreciation in this context means a visual display of something desirable, not gratuitous beaver shots. even if you go to other forums (watch, cars, motorbikes, bikes, 4x4s, etc...) they use the word "Appreciation" in the same spirit.

I can imagine, it must be unsettling to view these threads from a place of work. The 'P' word will not read well in any office. If you don't have a real job (or any job), you don't have this problem
