Yeah, kinda bummed that we went out in this round, but on the other hand, I don't think we played like one of the eight best teams in the tourney, so I can't really gripe. Viva España.

OK back to not caring about soccer.

What a great game!!! Too bad that if I'm rooting for some team, they always lose. I think it was all my fault.

Predicting this threak does not reach 3,000.

The U.S. will never be a dangerous draw until they can get a striker who doesn't need a ten yard defender-free radius and five uncontested touches to score in the box. Until that happens, we'll be a team that simply competes hard, stays organized and lives or dies on whether we catch a break here or there.

Very true. We need a striker who finishes. We've had at LEAST 5 chances to score in this game (5 very good chances) Terrible, terrible finishing.

I'm gonna blame this one on Coach Bob, because I have to blame it on somebody. Findley and Clark should have been nowhere near the starting lineup, and there's no way in hell Edu would have given up that early goal. Left himself with no subs for the last 30, Altidore was garbage the whole game. Fuck.

Yea, i wasn't a fan of the starting lineup either. I understand that he wanted to experiment or something from something he saw in film but if it doesn't work then you have to make aggressive substitutions.

But yea, the US forwards and mids just don't have much skill, touch or control and aren't really creative enough to turn chances into high percentage chances. Donovan played well and i wonder if he'll bolt for europe for the upcoming club season

Probably not. While i am going to watch all the other games like i have been doing, it's nice to have a team you have actual ties to playing. The same reason people like watching march madness, bowl games, or pro playoffs when their home team is in the running.

Also, donovan has a really weird voice. I can't put my finger on it. Is he a confirmed non-gay? I'm not so sure.

It's like a gay-robot voice, without the usual gay up-and-down inflections.

feilhaber played really well, before him the US was just struggling like fuck for possessions. the difference between forwards really made the game tonight though.

makes you wonder why he and edu weren't in from the beginning. That way they can just make strategic adjustments based on fatigue later Also, i felt a lot more confident in eddie johnson the past 5 years in international play as one of the strikers. he was good in the air as well. Though i remember in 06 the coach wouldn't give him much run. He's injured right?
