Is it de rigueur elsewhere?

Can you get carton milk in Canada? If so, why would you choose one over the other?

I grew up with milk in a bag. Actually had a milk man that delivered it.

Its not nationwide in Canada - its only found in the East. BC through Manitoba you find milk in jugs and cartons.

we used to have milk bags in elementary school for lunch- but nothing that big. they were about the size of corn hole bean bags and you drank them like a capri sun.

Btw, his technique is weak. You slam the bottom of the plastic container against the heel of one hand, thus seating the bag firmly. You also snip the edge off the back corner of the bag, to stop bag collapse and possible falling out of the container, while pouring.

And it's been 15 years, at least, since I got milk this way.

I live in MN - the gas station across the street sells milk in a bag as an option (it is much cheaper), but also has gallon and half gallon jugs.

I've always been scared of the stuff in the bag - especially because there is no way to seal it back up from what I can tell.

I drank this for all of my childhood until university. I didn't think it was weird. That said I guess in other places you don't buy the plastic milk bag holder thing?

I only started buying cartons when I moved on my own and started subsisting on alcohol instead.

My cousin from the west coast in British Columbia thought we were weird though since they use glass jars.

When I was in HS they had milk sacks that you had to stab a straw into the middle of. Everyone hated them so we got our cartons back after a couple months.

Alright, you know you grew up in Toronto if you remember late night public television The Tom Green Show where he'd continually puncture those milk bags and spray people (usually the stage manager if I remember correctly) with them...

I always thought milk in bags was just normal. Is this only a Canadian thing?

Wait... has no one created a pitcher with a hinged cover or a clip that attaches the corner to the pitcher's handle to make sure there's no possibility of the bag falling out?
