HBO: How to make it in America - Page 5

This show is like a series of vignettes of "How To Be Cool In NYC".

[quote=Fuuma;3006848]It's watchable and I bet some wannabe hipster girl in the midwest think its amazing that they mentioned Nylon. Let's hope it won't push her to finish her shitty art program and move to NYC to be exploited as a copy editor by some random fashion mag (possibly Nylon). I wouldn't want this show to destroy lives...

I'm watching the second episode. I love how these guys are broke but drop cash on marked up booze at Freeman's. Though, it explains the theme.

As much as I loath that "jumped the shark" meme/chiche... had all this 'hipster'-shit not jumped the shark years ago, this show would have killed it. The only reason I can't think of that that whole subculture isn't dead is because it's so broadly defined. If you are under the age of 40, you can be defined as a hipster in someone's book.

well, atleast they use some good tunes =/

Luis Guzman should be the star of this show. All the other characters are bland and uninteresting.

yes, and no self-respecting jew would choose a pr as his business partner.

The discussion in this thread was amusing so I'll probably watch an ep sometime in the next week. lulz at Cudi as token black guy -> token black hipster.

Martha Plimpton is almost as good as Guzman in her small part.

Thems was some ugly-ass jeans. He's a super-fashion genius (according to everyone they run into) but didn't realize a 17" front rise was going to look ridiculous?

I didn't get the part with the sample. How come he had no clue how ridiculous the jeans will look? And based on what was the tailor making the jeans? That one sketch in his textbook? Is that the way you have your sample jeans made today?

I like this show, I get a kind of Entourage vibe.

Thrift store SA is a cutie. I assume they'll pretend she never existed next week.
Looks like the t-shirts are going to be another disaster. Definitely the Entourage plan of a small failure every couple of weeks, just to be saved in the last ep of the season. Lame.

They should scrap the whiny hipsters and just cover Luis Guzman.

Make that two jews. Smart of the PR to use jews for the money stuff...

No. It's done with templates and a variation of AutoCAD made for the fahion industry.
