Wonderful.

Thank you for posting that. Drakes is one of the few brands I really look up too and the only one I really try to model myself after.

Wow, that was great!

The best line was about the loop "... through which you can, if you know nothing at all about how a tie should be worn, tuck the tail." Reminds me of Kingsly Amis or Wodehouse or Mortimer.

Do people really not tuck in the tail through the keeper? I didn't realize/don't think it's "wrong" to do so...I mean sprezzatura and all is nice, but the tie is just sloppy when the keeper is not used.

And interesting that M. Drake is clearly wearing a Brooks Brothers (from the cuff shirring) button down shirt in the piece.

I don't use the keeper.

I wouldn't go as far as to say it looks naff, but I prefer the relaxed feel of having the tail untucked. It blends well with the softly tailored look, but perhaps not the military one.

Agreed. It also depends on the tie to an extent. If the tie is a bit short, and therefore the tail is short, I would rather tuck it in than have it hang midway down the blade. If the tail and blade are of roughly equal length when tied, then untucked it is.

What's so bad about using the loop? It's rare that anyone's ever even going to see whether you're using it or not...
