Clove cigarettes

I bought a pack today and I won't be buying normal cigarettes anymore. They cost significantly more, but the taste is so much nicer. I like the fact they are black as well.

They banned them in the states...

I don't even smoke and I love cloves. I always get drunk and smoke a bunch of cloves and then feel sick because tons of alcohol + tons of nicotine w/o tolerance = me passing out. And black cigarettes are just cool, especially if you're wearing all black at the time.

Psssst, you can still illegally order them online. Don't tell anyone I told you.

I love clove cigarettes.

Didn't Djarum start making clove cigars in order to bypass the obviously illegal anti-clove legislation? I do not understand how a country can say banning the combination of two completely legal substances (cloves and tobacco) is illegal while combining two other completely legal substances (menthol and tobacco) is legal and still be able to sleep at night thinking they've done the right thing. Especially when they taste so niceeeee. Still legal in Canada, $13 a pack for Djarum Blacks though...

Yup

What I don't know is if Tommy Suharto still has the controlling interest in Djarum and it's "competitors" in Indonesia.

I stopped smoking years ago, but still love the smell of a kretek - so many memories. Probably good for me they aren't easily obtainable here.

Was given a pack of Djarum when I was in Thailand last year. Took a little getting used to but I wouldn't say they are better than regular cigarettes. Just not my thing.

They f up your lungs if you smoke them constantly. Wikipedia is a good read. But other than that, yes they taste fucking awesome, especially with a sweet tasting filter.

I never saw the appeal. We always called them hippie smokes. I used to smoke, and I like cloves in say, a yorkshire parkin but not cigs.

at one point i used to smoke grape bidi's - I wonder if they sell those anymore ( I haven't smoked in years)

Wikipedia is a good read. They aren't worse for you than normal cigarettes.

I believe it's still possible to import clove cigarettes for personal use, it's just that businesses can no longer sell them. I think that may be changing soon though, I'm not sure. Personally I hate the new American Djarums...they taste awful.

I finished my box and went back to normal cigarettes. They burned too quickly and the novelty wore off.

cloves are great. plus they don't leave such an awful odor. they still sell them in the northwest (i.e. washington and oregon), although i thought that they were to be banned by a certain date. does anyone know when?

I'm pretty sure clove cigarettes, specifically Indonesian ones, last longer than the normal ones. Well from what I've seen.
