Does your stool float or sink?

And is there anything wrong with dropping sinkers as opposed to floaters?

It depends on what you've been eating.

another classic H&B threak.

I don't look at mine, I typically flush right after it hits the water. Today though, I've had the runs like it's no ones business. Think Niagara Falls, but with with chocolate covered malt balls running down.

This thread is useless without pics.

So does that mean eating poorly causes sinkers or vice versa?

Eating poorly has nothing to do with it. Your poops float or sink depend on what you don't digest in your food. As long as you digest the nutrients and minerals required it doesn't matter what comes out.

Hardness can indicate constipation. Liquidy can indicate diarrhea. If there's blood, see a doctor. Otherwise you are probably ok.

I thought it had to do with the amount of fat in your diet. The greater the fat intake the greater the floater.

I read that may be possible, but it's really the oxygen content or something in the fatty diet that would cause this, not the fat itself

Bad move. Examining one's feces is not only instinctive, it is the easiest way to gauge intestinal health at a glance. I, for one, spend minutes squinting into the cloudy water after every bowel movement as I try to interpret the patterns in the stool, much like a psychic reading tea leaves.

It's fat or fiber. High fiber diets make floating shit too... As does high fat diets.

Interesting.

One thing is for sure: McDonald's never fails to deliver immediate bowel movement. I gotta go. Now.

steatorrhea (fat in the feces) is a symptom of pancreatitis and also small intestine disease involving malabsorption of fat.

A good floater after eating lots of fiber is very satisfying.
