Are you cooking for V-Day?

I don't have any significant other to cook for, but I promised two friends I'd cook them a sort of Fuck Valentines Day dinner. I saw an episode of Everyday italian a week or two ago where she made Eggplant Timbale that looked extremely delicious and not too difficult. And its got too of my favorite things in the world, sausage and cheese

So if your cooking for that god awful day, whats on your menu?

Is garlic really appropriate for a St Valentines Day dinner?

I'm thinking the following, but worried it might be a little heavy...

Balthazar's cream of mushroom soup

Keller's short-ribs over soft polenta with braised brussel sprouts

Lebovitz's chocolate sherbet

We made a bacon, escarole and poached egg salad with a side of Keller's caramelized scallops.

I did and it was fairly basic: Flank steak with a chimichurri sauce. Lavender glazed carrots. Baked potato with chives, sour cream and some aged cheddar cheese. Homemade strawberry gelato.
