A member's post on collar roll from his blog. 

 

I've personally never understood the appeal of the ‘liberty bell’ over what he calls the ‘half-dome’. I have all my custom shirts do a kind of hybrid like he shows, though sometimes a half-dome. It’s just more aesthetically pleasing to my eye – the liberty bell just looks flattened and lifeless, whereas the hybrid/half-dome is like the casual button downed version of a spread collar, to me. Perhaps it helps that I wear half-windsors… a crime around here, I know.
