Thread Starter
Didn't see a thread on her so I though I'd start one.
Anyone else a fan of hers and are you looking forward to the new album coming out next month, I personally can't wait, I refuse to listen to her new releases until the album comes out in full. I want it now

she sounds like an angry cat

I don't think the new album will be a letdown, the new tracks that have been released so far are great.

I was sort of disappointed with her second album (Ys) but what I have heard off of the new one so far has been pretty good.

Have you listened to her Walnut Whales independent release?

Some of the songs were on the first album (peach plum pear), but others have been unreleased (Flying a Kite and Erin).

Still waiting on the new album to get here.

I hold Ys in very high regard, it's definitely one of my favorite albums in last few years so I had very high expectations for the new album. It's hard to say after only listening to it (constantly) for a few days but Have One On Me is probably even better. It's stunning in many ways, imo. Morgan and Francesconi bring a lot to this one, amazing drumming and arrangements. edit: plus she sings like a goddess.

Huge fan here.. There have been several threads about her over the years, I remember making one 5 or so years ago proclaiming that Bridges & Balloons is one of the best songs ever written. There was also a music thread that was active for a long time where we talked a lot about Joanna Newsom. Anyway, I'm stoked to hear the new stuff. She's one of the few artists I trust to be consistently good.

couple of tracks remind me of Karin Andersson's colab with Royksopp (antoher great voice)

I saw her open for Smog at the Troubadour several years ago. I was really impressed, but I think it was just because it's pretty impressive to see someone play harp in person. Can't stand the baby-voice singing.

Did you see here perform in Tokyo? She was here a couple of weeks ago, one of the first stops of the tour. I loved it.
