Why does 5 hour energy give me the s***s? - Page 3

Why do people pay for nasty-tasting "energy drinks" as a caffeine source? Caffeine pills are cheaper and more convenient and have no taste. In any case, yes, I also get the shits from caffeine. All it takes is about 100 mg for me (a cup of coffee or half a caffeine pill) and I'll be in the bathroom within an hour or two. I imagine this effect goes away if you use caffeine regularly.

That is a lot of coffee. It might be safer to try less of something stronger, as TS already suggested.
About 12 oz of frothed milk. One sugar cube.

It's not really a good thing either in the long term. I'd advise trying to get more sleep rather than using a crutch to get through the day.

I get plenty of sleep every night. Never less than 7.

But caffeine isn't going to cause any of those problems (other than a transient increase in blood pressure) so unless/until he has an actual medical problem other than uniballosis, it's not really an issue. [correction] Caffeine can stimulate gastric acid secretion and potentially cause an ulcer. Forgot I listed that. [/correction]

Controlled ingestion over time is a lot more effective than getting it all at once.

That makes sense. For some reason, I always envisioned people chugging down these drinks all at once.

I used to jump between coffee and energy drinks saddened by the lack of a better alternative that doesn't stain your teeth or cover them with sugary coating for the next few hours. At random i found energy pills in a health store, standard 200mg caffeine 100 pills/9$ I think the brand is bio something. Never went back to coffee or energy drinks. Besides saving way more money than I should by giving up coffee/red bull .. I never crash. Drinking coffee doesn't even feel good anymore cause I know there's going to be a downtime afterwards. I just get steady rise of mental and physical energy and no jitters or the 'agitated' feeling. Not sure what makes the difference but I found it amazing, I can actually pull productive allnighters (not that I like to..) As for drinks I switched exclusively to green tea.

For some reason, I don't trust people who don't drink coffee.
