That is extraordinarily rare. Thank you for showing that to me.

My pleasure. I have a couple of French crocodile and alligator wallets that I've been told date from the '20s or '30s. The workmanship and skins are just amazing. Alas, although this extraodinary case fits neither my current lifestyle or budget, it's fun to think about how its previous owner must have lived (and traveled).

By the way, it was previously listed for $5,000 with a BIN of $10,000. No one bid. Could be yours for a song . . . .

My song would have to be singing in the note of hundreds, not thousands!

Oh my - that is so very tempting. As much I can easily imagine gliding in and out hotels around the world with that bag trailing behind me on the bellman's cart I can't imagine how I could get it there without a private jet. It couldn't be checked with commercial airlines and arrive in good condition. And it's too large for overheads.

I guess I'll stick with my boring old black belting leather hartman rollaboard. :cloud:

Mine! lol

btw, got those lobbs in the mail the other day. they fit very well and already have a pretty nice patina to them. i will probably have one of my cobblers repair some of the knicks in the leather and wear them as is for now. I will have them properly recrafted when the time comes.

If you like that one, you may find this Cartier crocodile suitcase of interest . . . .

Not all sharkskin is that ridgy type you see on 1970s AEs. These look like the refined sharkskin Roy used on those Bestettis. They are Nettleton. What more can you say about exotics than the quality of Nettletons? If they fit you = way to go.
