Thanks, I thought so. I was more focused on the retail value.

An amazing re-craft job by Silvano Lattanzi. It's my dad's project, but wanted to give everyone a glimpse of the results.

My dad is quite good at some of these things, but not a chance he did this or would even try! No, these were sent to Lattanzi in Italy. He requested a few things that are normally NOT done and I think they turned out great. He requested the recessed toe-plates and they are actually inscribed/embossed "S. Lattanzi" which I thought was a nice touch.

Nice, but the soles actually *need* redoing? What about the uppers?

The heels, if I recall correctly, needed to be replaced because of uneven wear, but I don't know about the soles? I do know he wanted the soles re-done in a way he likes and this is the result. He is extremely OCD about what he wants so I don't think it was an issue of "need" to be replaced, but he wanted to enhance them, as he saw it. I think he accomplished what he wanted. I am sure the uppers are quite nice, too, but I have not gotten a photo of those yet. If I get them I will add them to my post.

Since he just returned from CA after visiting with his doctors and found that he has very advanced osteoarthritis, especially in his injury riddled feet, it is highly unlikely he will ever wear these now. It is already almost impossible for him to wear dress shoes. It is his curse in life, to love something that he really cannot enjoy for himself. He will likely list them after admiring them for a bit.

Two interesting pieces from Mark Cross:

The first, a new passport/travel wallet: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mark-Cross-Italian-Black-Leather-Passport-Wallet-Snap-Closure-from-Estate-/251029282882?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a7282e042

The second, a portable writing portfolio, with separate sleeves for answered and unanswered letters. (Did you ever get the feeling you were born in the wrong era?) http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Mark-Cross-Leather-Laptop-Travel-Letter-Desk-/140731575545?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item20c4416cf9
