Kind of OT, but how do you guys shop for fall/winter tweed on eBay without getting old, smelly, moth-hole items? Am I worried for nothing?

I've never had much luck with heavier cloth on eBay. It's so much more prone to all of the shortfalls you mentioned (especially with older items) so I tend to steer clear of it. Maybe I'm just unlucky though - YMMV.

I was afraid of that. I figure flannel is safer, and I have two flannel suits that I bought off eBay that are very nice and recent. Not a lot of flannel SC's out there right now though...

ebay's a crapshoot, and it should be because buyers are always trying to get a discount.

Do your research and you'll do OK more often than not.

Never really understood the attraction to black shell. Half the reason I love cordovan is the slight nuances in colour / patina that you don't get with black.
That being said - these are a lovely pair of shoes for the price - regardless of material.

I agree with this, but the properties of shell are just awesome, regardless of color.

i have seen this pair before, even on SF. it looks like it recently crossed the pond

For like 3 years I feel like I have been seeing this shoe in an EG search.

What last do we think this is?

My guess is U.

That pair was part of the 300+ pair Mega-Sale in March. There are a bunch of other Lobb Exotic Loafers as well.
