Awesome vintage Burberry (actually made in England) tweed overcoat:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Burberry-Irish-Herringbone-Tweed-Overcoat-38R-Altmans-NYC-/150681389578

Seriously considered it for myself, but I can't spend the money right now.

I was considering that too. Asked the seller for measurement, and unfortunately it will not fit me very well. Here is his response for those who're interested.

Hello again. Measured on a hanger from the back from the outside shoulder to outside shoulder, I get 19 1/2 inches. Length is 45". The sleeve, from the bottom of the bottom of the armpit center seam (from the inside) to the end of the sleeve is 25 1/4". Laid down on a flat surface and measuring across the back inside from the left armpit center seam to right armpit center seam I get 22". I am a perfect 38 in all Burberry coats both old and new, and this fits perfectly. It is tough to get the measurements just right because of the shoulder/sleeve style, which I think they call raglan or some such thing. Hope this is helpful and thanks. rt

I have a question for the shoe experts here. I've been looking for a pair of vintage but good condition classic black wingtips or Oxfords and came across these 'new old stock' items recently. I was left wondering about the leather. The knobbly texture reminds me of the boots I had when I was a military cadet, which we were forced to use a hot spoon to press out. My question is - what is this texture and is it a good or a bad sign?
