Those are a tragedy.

No no, AE uses those soles for all of their custom orders. I would imagine upper is just alligator, not imprinted shell.

I had that exact thought, then I saw the box pic in the auction stating black cordvn. Still a slim chance of them being real but really awful still. Spoo, no blue for you!

Yeah, AE's probably too cheap to make a new label so they grabbed the nearest pre-made box. Def. too thin to be shell but yes, still awful design for alligator.

Hi Guys. First off please excuse my noobness. I've been looking through this thread for some ideas on some smart shoes to buy. I had been thinking of purchasing some paul smith richie's as I really like the smooth look of the patent leather and simple design Then I started looking at his taylors shoes as I think they look a bit cooler I really like the look of both of these and having tried a pair of the richie's on I know they fit well. I've been looking at other shoes such as the allen edmonds park avenue's that someone linked to a couple pages back, but I'm not sure I like the oxford style toecap. The probelm i have with the paul smith shoes is they are a bit expensive (£180) and I don't seem to be able to find them cheap on eBay. I'm wondering if any of you guys could suggest an alternative shoe with a similar well made design that I might be able to find for slightly cheaper or that might offer better value/quality?
