$875.00? Seriously. What's that, about 25% more than say a pair of C&J hand-grade or a pair of Alden in shell? And horrible design aside, and qualified by the fact that I've never seen a pair in real life, the quality looks distinctly suspect.

Barker Black is more or less Barker's foray into a "hand grade" line. However, they seem to have an infatuation with tongue-in-cheek detailing (see: skull and crossbones). And that green suede is horrid. Quality-wise they are quite good. I'd put them on par with C&J for sure (C&J Hand Grade is a bit of a stretch, but not by a ton).

It's been a while since I've handled a pair of Barker Blacks, but when they first came out there were a very nice shoe with a bit of eccentricity to boot. At this point they may have jumped the shark. However, as was the case a few years ago, that $875 price tag falls substantially with sales at Saks, Neiman's, Bloomingdales, etc. It's one of those brands I'd never pay full retail for because you don't have to.

Barker Black made a seriously nice Jodphur boot without the cheeky detailing a few years back. Very elegant and sleek shoe. Unfortunately, it seems hard to find any photos of them online.

I'll ask the seller if they were ever worn.

Seller was unable to say whether packaging the shirts come in is original or whether the shirts have ever been worn. So, I guess it's CAVEAT EMPTOR.

Those were definitely folded and bagged by a cleaner. If they are in good shape it is still bot a terrible price, but they are not new.

The pairs I have are about the same quality of C&J hand-grade. I paid for NIB $225 to $275. I would never pay more than $350 and yes the website is horrible.

I could see NIB $225 to $275. Not for those green monstrosities though.

I would guess because the seller has very carefully not shown the back of the jacket leading me to believe it is ventless.

Doesn't the last photo show that it's double-vented? Am I missing something?
