One should be careful when putting one's reputation on the line. One person'e few positive experiences does not guarantee that all experiences by others are handled the same.

To be clear, I am NOT passing personal judgment.

....

Granted, but so should one be careful discrediting someone so flippantly.

He says the suit is new - having been tailored - but not worn. I don't see any reason to dispute this and I don't think it's appropriate to do so publicly based on speculation.

I stand by what I said - I've had great dealings with him.

Seller here, so let me respond to the unwarranted aspersions. I accurately listed this as new, and tailored. I purchased new, with basting stitches, etc, and had it tailored to fit me but never wore it.

So let me be clear for those who can't read or see:

  • Waist let out? You bet, just a bit, as you can see in the photos I posted. And I had my Savile Row-trained tailor keep the split waistband, as you can see.
  • Sides of the jacket taken in a bit? You bet, just a bit.
  • Unhemmed pants cuffed? You bet, just like the photos show.
  • Worn? No, never.
  • Dry cleaned? No, because it's new.
  • Great deal? You bet.
  • Don't believe me? I don't care. Move on and don't buy it.

I have better things to do than to waste forum members' time by listing a used suit and calling it new. And those forum members who have actual experience dealing with me, sellers and buyers, can credibly attest to it.

I'd hope other forum members have better things to do than skulk around looking to pick at other members' listings. Get a life.

FWIW, I've bought a pair of shoes from aph999 before and the transaction went without a hitch.

I've purchased a couple of suits from aph999, and was very satisfied with the whole process AND the goods. Communication was excellent as well. He's got my vote.

for president? (just kidding)

The nature of the beast when one is a seller is that QUESTIONS SHALL ARISE.

I see no reason why one should be offended or upset by this. A well respected member noted that he saw what he thought to be sighs of wear. I just noted that it is understandable to have those questions based on the corner fraying to the tags and tailoring. Seller responded and said the suit is new and unworn.

Anyone on this thread has seen hundreds of similar cases when the item in question actually WAS worn, and the posters here pointed it out (saving any potential buyer/SF member aggravation).
This time seller is being honest, apparently.

Business is business, and no personal affront is intended.
