I've literally got a couple hundred saved searches in my google reader, so a lot of stuff is stuff I've found, but out of necessity, most of my searches are for more obscure brands... so I especially love it when people find particularly cool pieces or deals from say Brioni, who I don't have a search for. But generally CK, Malford and Simon all come up with great stuff every time.
RJ is kind enough to email me and Derek a list once in a while. We use a lot of them in our list. I wouldn't ever have started to save searches and make lists without RJ.
What a deal!!! The Mark Cross shearling sold for only $122.50
I have not heard of "Mark Cross." Is he an American designer? Why is this such a good deal? I am not trying to be a jerk about it, I have just never heard of this brand.
On another note. I am trying to find an antique cane sword for my dad for Christmas. He already has to use a cane anyway and I know he wants one. It really needs to be antique, with silver or gold on it, maybe some bone or ivory. Probably ebony for the wood. He is pretty particular about these things and so there would be no point in getting him a new one, which is all I have been able to find so far. I couldn't really afford to buy one, but my brothers and mom wold like to jointly buy him one if I can find one somewhere. They are apparently illegal to sell on Ebay?
Mark Cross was the first US luxury leather brand. Now, I believe, they are primarily women's purses and accessories. In the disco 80's they were quite chic, probably the era of that men's shearling coat. But that is just a guess.

I don't think they are illegal, but they were rare in the first place. The last one I saw on eBay had none of the adornments you mention yet sold for >$500, so I think you'd be looking at well over $1000 for one with ivory, silver or gold on it.
Mark Cross was one of the most prolific purveyors of leather goods for most of the 1900s, most notably the case Grace Kelly used in that Hitchcock's "Rear Window". Like many great names, they faced a lot of trouble and shortly after had their name nearly ruined by having some very poor quality items marketed under the Cross name on QVC. Only recently (last couple years) has the name been used on quality goods again. I believe one of their core items available right now is a replica of the Grace Kelly case. MC is probably one of the best deals on eBay because the good old stuff often goes overlooked--personally got a great condition, all-leather holdall for less than $100.
If anyone got a pair of those Lindricks for $400, please please please PM if they don't work out for you (even if they do, pass them on to me ).
