^^ A little better. I would say why not just buy a a pair of APCs at that price and distress them yourself.

got them on sale last night for $160. Good, Bad?

So the thing about StyleForum is that people like jeans that are distressed naturally - that is, we buy raw jeans (jeans w/o artificial distressing) and wear them until the indigo comes off. The jeans you posted here and above are both examples of really obvious artificial distressing. If you're interested in 'dressing well' according to the standards of the forum, then I would do some research in other threads; the trial-and-error thing that you're doing right now is just going to annoy people.

I'm not saying it's the only way to dress, but it is the way people dress here.

Example of naturally distressed jeans (to preempt the questions, those are Dior 19cm)

Opportunity costs. I could buy a pair of jeans, wear them a whole lot, and hope to get the right sort of distressing over a long period of time, or I could just immediately buy a pair of pre-distressed jeans with the look I want. Also, if you mean intentionally ripping the jeans yourself, I don't think that works very well. I certainly would be hard pressed to do a better job than a fashion label.

I wouldn't give up before you've tried your hand at it. Besides, you'd be surprised at the kind of crap some "fashion labels" put out, Diesel in particular. I forgot to mention, some of the ripping that occurs is completely natural, I mean, denim is still just cotton.

As i mentioned earlier i just bought my first pair of pure blue japan on another forum and to my understanding they are raw denim? Keep in mind that diesel is the only "high end" jeans i own so therefore i know nothing about anything else until i started navigating forums thus i bought the Japanese denim so i can compare them to all my diesels. Who knows, maybe after inspecting the pbj i would never buy diesel again.

PS Like Kelvin said in another thread, that took 2.5 years. It looks amazing but it takes awhile. But Raw is the best way to go.

edit - especially because for 400$ you can get the best pair of raw jeans possible from Self Edge and be way higher quality then the distressed diesel you bought. You will see when you get your PBJ's

I have yet to see a pair of pre distressed jeans done with taste except some Diors that I have seen. I didn't mean to intentionally ripping them apart, I meant just wear them hard and bring out the fades naturally.

@ Elfather

A little scrap of comfort:

The Boss Black dress shirt isn't that bad. I own five myself and rank them among my favorite slim fit dress shirts in that price range. The Boss Green tees and the Boss Orange sneakers are really tacky though and not worth the money; as 99% of their stuff...

As to the Diesel Jeans:

I was a loyal Diesel customer from 2003 - 2008 ( not to mention the stuff I've bought in my childhood ), when Diesel still made high-quality jeans ( especially the more expensive ones which were usually made of Japanese Denim ), with non-tacky but realistic looking distressings, non-flashy but fairly plain backpockets and feel like crying right now. Things are getting worse from year to year...

The last halfway decent pair of Diesel jeans I was interested in was Tazy 8IO in 2008/2009... -> http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s...x/IMG_7075.jpg

It won't fade as fast as others but there will be honeycombs pretty fast since they are very slim. The thing is they look great raw and will age beautifully. Mine are kind of old but after a year or 1.5 they'll look not far from that..

i have only been buying diesel for 3-4 years i really didn't know that their quality had been going deep south.

So pretty much i should stay away from logo shirts?
