Those Ann D boots look much better worn. The part that makes them interesting is that they don't really have a tongue, just a solid piece of leather, so you can adjust the silhouette to your liking.

...that's just a storm tongue to stop the water getting in. lots of work boots have it.

yes i'm sure that's what it's for

I mean, I'm gonna be the first one to congratulate you on a really nice purchase, but I had thought that those Butteros, while not perfect, would do in tying you over until you found something really awesome to go with your style. Those are not that great - and honestly i think the Butteros are better. Either way it seems like you've taken a halfway jump.

Anyway I hope they're better than they look or LN-CC has a good return policy.

Back from Paris.. Bought a bunch of stuff, but this one is my favorite:

Black matte python leather boat shoes from Lanvin..
Found them in a 2nd hand store for 200 Euros, but they're brand new (sticker still on the sole). Retail is over 1k Euros. Pics tomorrow..

well ln-cc does have a good return policy, but these fit a lot of the things i was looking for in a lace-up boot -- particularly, that they can be worn loosely at the top to have a sort of "flare out" effect rather than pants being stuffed into the top like a sausage haha.looking forward to trying them.
