I don't know much about tailoring. Can this work? I like the material and the shoulders fit nicely. I don't want to lose the oversized nature of the suit, but I'd need to shorten the sleeves and take in the back. Is it too much? The trousers and jacket are sold separately, so I could keep one and return the other. Any advice appreciated, especially if you know a little about tailoring.
I sized down by the way (LOL). This is a small and I'm usually a M, and even a L In DVN and RLPL.

You are normally size Medium? Mind if ask you your height?

I have a couple of MH blazers, including that shirt blazer in a different fabric, and they don't fit me like that. I've been buying them size medium from Japan where their size medium measurements match up to the size small English measurements. I'm normally a size small and the sleeves go right up to the end of my wrists.

I thought it might've been this one (which is sadly a bit too long for me)

5'-10"

Yeah, that's weird because Margaret Howell in Japan doesn't make sense because that jacket is literally the smallest size available and it's too big for me, and yet when I buy stuff from Japan like KKA I'm usually buying the largest size available.

I think MH in Japan is different from MH in the west, I think they probably re-cut it for the Japanese market, I think some of it is even made in Japan or used to be.  The brand is also majority owned by a Japanese company apparently:

Like I said, though maybe I wasn't very clear, MH in Japan is a size smaller. Their size medium appears to match the measurements for the west's size small.

If that small blazer doesn't fit someone that's 5'10" then there should be even more than a size difference. That doesn't really make sense to me though as I have bought western MH size small items and they fit me like I would expect. I guess that piece is particularly oversized this season?

Was kind of hoping to buy some MH stuff before stores remove their sales. I guess I'm going to have actually try stuff on.

Most Margaret Howell seems to be designed to fit oversized on taller men. Maybe Caveat isn't tall enough (sorry), but the main issue is that he's not wearing it as intended. I recommend he put on some shoes and a nice crisp shirt, steam the suit, roll the trousers, and try again with photos.

Hirsh this isn't live journal, it's recent purchases. Reported as spam

Thanks for the advice everyone. Really helpful. I hadn't thought about the height thing, but maybe you're right. I just measure myself with shoes on and got 6 feet even, but maybe that's not enough. I might pin the clothes or go to a tailor and take some photos.
