I went over to that thread this morning (kamakura) and it's a bit of a clusterfuck imo. Most orders apparently ship from Japan, which may get you customs charges, but according to stichy you can see if the NYC store has your shirt. I dunno too much footwork for me I'll just wait till I'm in NYC again.

if you buy from the online webshop they ship from japan. if the new york store has your size, they can ship it to you directly. not really that complicated. the shirts are excellent quality for the price of brooks brothers (with a much better collar roll). if the fits work for you, they're hard to beat.

It took me 15 minutes to order from the NYC store. They spent 10 of those minutes between calls checking stock.

Well, I picked them up and I'm still not sure. They are wonderfully made and fit beautifully, but they don't make me think 'wow!' - but it's my fault for what I specified. I should have ordered them with a cap-toe, got slightly different colour(s) and not insisted on the wedge sole. Basically, I should have gone with how he generally makes his men's boots.

Bunch of cheap margiela 14 lightweight wool pants, hoping one of them fits properly and looks nice in person.

Slight upgrade to Uniqlo garbage bag type stuff. Maybe it will help me resist the Schneider quilted jacket.

the jeans look great on the pic, but isn't 3in too much ? could skew proportions of the jeans maybe ? Interested to know how that will work out.

^ tailors don't just take 3 inches off the waist when they do alterations like that - good ones generally open them up and take some of the butt out too
