Recent purchases - Part II - Page 2304

I have those kinda Hi but not super Hi in my sale thread that I'll probably end up keeping but if I'm being totally practical lows are all I need. I guess I'd make an exception for the ones with the oversized laces from last year or the brownish/eggplant version from a while ago.

Burgundy blazer from ASOS. Buttons to be replaced. Can't be dropping $900 on the Yang.

(Sometimes I shoop the expensive models onto the cheaper web sites and vice versa, in order to try and untangle the mind's associative snobberies...)

Not sure about the 3 button, it's a great color though.

Object-dyed double breasted coat. A gorgeous fuzzy boiled wool drool.gif Pills heavily, but that's on purpose. All you have to do to limit the effect if that bothers you is to give it a good brushing from time to time. It will look even better after that. Melted vinyl buttons. I like those, because they match so well the overall misshapen aspect of the garment. You have a better view on the fabric on the pic below, by the way. Surprisingly my first black [winter-weight] coat

fit is something between the first fellow (shorter than me) and second (taller but skinner) not my fits (Click to show)

A coat suitable for the English spring:

Oliver Spencer make the bold statement that it's inspired by Richard E. Grant's coat in 'Withnail & I' - apart from the fact that it's a loosish fitting coat I don't see it at all - it's more like an Edwardian coachman's coat. Still I like this as something that will work over a suit for work, but dress down with jeans.

Anyone who wants a coat that looks like Withnail's coat (I'd love one if anyone has a spare £1800) can get one made by the film's costume designer here: http://store.andreagaler.co.uk/collections/withnail/products/the-withnail-i-coat
