I actually really enjoy wearing glasses.

Granted, the pair I have now is always slipping off of my face due to the hinges, and me accidentally sitting on them recently.

I don't usually wear any accessories at all, so I suppose glasses make up for that as well.

For $250, this is a really nice camera. I had an S95 but it was stolen frown.gif

Maybe it's because I got my first pair of glasses when I was SEVEN, but finally being able to regularly put in contact lenses after many failed attempts over the years was one of my greatest triumphs. It's been 10 years, and I will only wear my glasses if I'm about to go to bed or physically cannot have contact lenses in my eyes.

That said, looking back on it, I would guess a lot of my distaste for glasses can be attributed to a lineage of owning really lame frames.

Like you, I got glasses when I was 6.  I have a really strong prescription, so the reason I refuse to wear them is because 1) they make my eyes look tiny, which I think makes me look really awful and 2) I just can't see nearly as well.

I'm always bewildered by people who wear glasses in daily life.

I have the same experience with contact lenses/glasses too. It's seriously not sensible to wear contact lenses all day everyday though... my eyes got really really unhealthy because of it. Opticians seem to recommend 8 hours a day, and using lots of moisturising eye drops. Be careful, you can cause yourself long term problems if you wear your contact lenses too much.

I've worn glasses since I was 8 until I got laser eye surgery a couple years ago. That was the best $4600 I've ever spent. Not having to worry about glasses or contacts and the time saved, it was well worth it.

I've been doing it this way for 10 years and still have regular check-ups. So far, so good. I know some people are in a position where they can no longer wear contacts for a long period of time, but thankfully, I'm not yet one of those people. And for whatever it's worth, my optometrist advised me against using eye drops more than once or twice a day. He said any more than that and you're at risk of doing more harm than good with regards to drying out your eyes. That goes against the suggested usage on the bottles of most eye drops, but he noted that, of course, they'd like you to use more of the product in a shorter amount of time.

Glasses are so sweet but inconvenient for people with heavy prescriptions. I bought a new pair of glasses to wear but never even put lenses in it cause contacts are just so much better. I kind of want surgery sometime...

That's the thing. I'm now at a point where if I don't have glasses on or contact lenses in, I'd be that guy in the shitty movie who tries to kiss that pretty girl that ends up being a cactus. Glasses wouldn't be such a hangup if I could function like a normal person without them if I didn't feel like wearing them. But I'm not, and I do a lot of things that glasses "get in the way" of, so I'd rather just stick with contacts.

Well you can always wear glasses if you don't need them, but if you do need them you don't have a choice.

I guess that's pretty "hipster" tho shog[1].gif

OK, well let's just say stuff like being out in the rain or snow, lifting weights, exercise of almost any kind, manual labor, sex, being out on a really sunny day (sensitive eyes and need sunglasses), are all vastly better for me with contacts versus glasses. YMMV.

Also: driving at night, being anywhere with lots of lights (i.e. a club), being anywhere where there's a big temperature change (the car when it's cold, steamy clubs) which will blind you with condensation...

I like my glasses more than contacts. And my visions is workable without them.
