I wonder if Woody Harrelson's character in Zombieland is maybe hinting at a real zombie apocalypse due to a twinkie outage.

It was an ebay auction available to all the U.S., if not the world. It just ended up by chance that he was in the same area. I think it's fine - I've run into similar situations before. Just meet in a public area; he's probably going to want to be cautious, too.

Don't fret... heard someone bought Hostess to save your Twinkies!

Until last week, I don't think I'd heard anyone talk about Twinkies since JNCO jeans were popular and Monster Magnet had a hit single.

They ain't stopping. It was just posturing to crush the unions and it appears to have worked --- twinkies will be available forever.

How much taper are they? I'd prefer something a bit looser.

Somewhere on TwinkieZeitigeist.com someone is furiously slamming on their keyboard, violently exclaiming to anyone who will listen that Mr. Hostess would never have approved of the Twinkie re-release, even though he long ago left the brand and sold it off to a conglomerate, and that no true Twinkie connoisseur could ever regard the new issues as valid.

Its not Americans themselves. It's the corporations and the people who own them. Dealing with a union is much worse than driving the company into the ground. Only to buy it back from themselves as a different company, and run it without unions.

They taper quite a bit - havent measured them but my guess would be around 6" - 6.5" at the bottom.
