Got a Merkur razor and some Feather blades. Managed to not cut the fuck up out of my face today. (It's actually astonishingly easy to use, who'da thunk.) icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

I switched over to one myself about two years ago and I've been enjoying closer shaves and the money savings on blades very much. I nicked my face (neck area to be exact) a few times, but not too bad.

I've been using a Gillette adjustable from the '60's for a couple years now- best shave ever. The is a shop on eBay that sells Derby blades at a reasonable price

I think personna blades are the best and result in much less cuts, feather blades are by far the sharpest and result in a very close shave with added probability of cuts would only use if an advanced user, and derby are by far the dullest blades available on the market and aren't exactly cheaper either.

Not sure what your definition of dull is... but maybe I will try Personna.

Besides, I am used to shaving with a Bowie knife, so the Derbys are a step up.

I even got 15% off the already 50% sale, which cancelled out the 3rd party markup and then some devil.gif

I use Croma Blades with my Merkur 34C.
Very close shave- rarely any cuts or irritation.


Those feather blades are sharp, but unnecessarily so. You can get a close shave without the risk of those feathers.
