The problem with making those types of posts is that people interpret them wrong; all I was doing was describing the different construction processes and dispelling the myth that Goodyear welting is the superior construction method. I don't think Goodyear is a bad construction method, it has just somehow managed to become a buzzword and erroneously assumed to be the best. I was just trying to show that it's not inherently more secure than the other factory shoemaking methods.
Blake, cemented, goodyear, blake rapid, they each serve a purpose and can be good options. Even bespoke makers will sometimes employ cemented construction when appropriate. Margiela sidezips would look weird with welted construction.
To me, those look like blake-rapid construction. IMO, it is probably the sturdiest of the machine made methods.

FWIW I just came back from the cobbler. He was a bit in awe and suspicious of the boot it having so varying leather types sewn together. I asked him similar questions and he basically said they were pretty good constructed shoes albeit they are probably cemented though he only agreed with me when I brought it up. Said that if there was any welting or stitching that it would have shown all the way through to the outsole. I decided to get a topy and he confirmed it will help the boot hold shape and last quite a while. Seeing how I have other boots rotating them should be fine in terms of wear over time. He offered to waterproof saying it will not darken the leather as he uses a different base in the liquid, which I thought was cool but opted out.

I emailed Damir perhaps I will get a PM back like Bam!

Believe it or not, a couple a MarJell-O's! have managed to escape Regis's tawny grasp, and in two days' time, I will return with the photographic evidence to prove it.

@reedo: yeah it's OL. Hoping it feels at least half as lovely as all the other stuff I've touched from them.

They're more like stretchy chinos. To each their own though, I'm really happy with them and they worked really well with the other stuff I posted at the top.
