How's the print on the blazer irl? It seems subtle enough. Cool jacket but not a fan of the white buttons.

Ok, the Svennson sneakers arrived today. They fit decently. Look good, too, but the finishing is sort of sloppy (lots of very rough cuts, some sloppy stitchings).. see pictures. Is this the case with yours, too? I don't know how CP's Achilles look IRL, but I figure they have a (much) cleaner finishing.
Warning: lotsa pictures! (Click to show)

the grey spot was just some hard to remove smudge (somethin gum-like)

Here, I can feel the different layers of the leather. I'm not sure whether it's supposed to be like that.

i thought about swapping out the buttons, but i figured whoever designs ann's men line knows more than i do. might do it anyway if i keep the jacket.

the damask print is actually more subtle in person. i had to use 'shadow/highlights' in photoshop to bring out the details, otherwise everything was a black blob. i like it, though; it's an interesting detail without being over-the-top.

i haven't had cps since the court shoes came out, but i remember the finishing being really good. but arent svennsons significantly cheaper? i wouldnt worry about it, though; shoes go on the ground, they get fucked up anyway.

People were buying the svensons for 120 shipped. Given the difference in price and those pictures, I'd definitely say they appear to be a good deal. I may have to pick a pair up when my CPs wear out if I can't find a pair at decent sale price again.

Ok, just removed the lacing. Some more pictures, unfortunately no natural lighting.
I'm not trying to be nitpicky. I just want to show others who are potentially interested in these shoes what they can expect. (And remember, they retail for 250$ usually -- or are they on sale all the time?)

left circle: wrong punch, right circle: dye; actually, the second lace hole from the bottom has a wrong punch, too

Damn dude, that's pretty obsessive. I think if you examined most shoes that thoroughly, you'd find all sorts of inconsistencies. For $120 they look pretty damn good, shape looks quite nice (which is the most important thing for me). Sounds like they'll still be good summer shoes.

I'd still say $120 is a fair price to pay for em, will say for sure when they arrive

I think it's interesting. Anyway, I didn't even inspect my C&J so closely, so maybe you're right. happy.gif
And yeah, like I said, I think they're good value! smile.gif

BTW, how do you guys keep your white sneakers clean? Just a damp cloth?

I rather wear some white vans and beat them up then drop a hundy plus on some wannabe leather sneakers

Canvas will be better for summer

I don't get it, why not stake out a place and wait for CPs to drop??

Planning on wearing white sneakers year round, leather is best. Plus leather Vans are just about as expensive as these

The shoes do not look that bad; they just look like a less well-made product than CPs. And, lest anyone here forget, CPs are pretty expensive—and equally high quality—shoes. If Reedo wants to knock around for a while in shoes that are good but not necessarily superb quality, that's his prerogative. It's not like he bought a pair of ugly, shit shoes; they're just not as high quality leathergasm as the high-end sMMMack that everyone here seems to measure as the immutable benchmark of "acceptable."
