Onvis Denim

good afternoon sf! first post here...please don't trash me for starting a new thread. i'm a noob that has been reading a lot here \t. didn't really find anything on onvis so i figured why not!

anyhow...here's my first foray into the realm of raw/selvage denim. i've been wearing sfam jeans and whatnot for a while not, and was intrigued by this new raw/selvage denim i keep seeing around. did some searching around here and stumbled on a list of affordable raws so i jumped on it! (no i don't work for onvis, or anyway affiliated with them). not really a fan of super skinny jeans, and the pictures on onvis' website looked good, but no one has really said anything about onvis here, so i took the plunge and ordered a pair. they came DHL yesterday and i wore them out to the bar last night and to run some errands today. figured id show you guys some pics.

first of all...after wearing "premium denim" such as sfam i was mighty impressed by the workmanship of these when i opened up the torn package i received from DHL. stitching and detailing seems top notch to me! i normally wear a size 30-31 depending on stretch of said denim, but after measuring out some of my worn in denim decided to order a size 29. they're a bit snug when i first put them on, but after a few hours of moving around they've gotten a little less snug and are starting to feel great.

here's some pics:

anyway, for 75bucks i'm happy with my purchase. one thing that does bug me is the button fly, not that big a deal, just takes an extra minute to button the jeans after visiting the bathroom. although im wondering if i should have them hemmed as i normally am between a 29/30 on the inseem, and these come in 34. however i keep reading some people suggest letting them wear to get nice fades before hemming too much. what is your opinion sf? should i cuff them for now? or just wear them normally?

Who cares if you cuff them or not, just take a seam ripper to that ridiculous cuff tag.
Just let them stack. And, agreed on the cuff tag, losing that should be priority #1 and it'll take about 40 seconds.

I normally don't mind gaudy details, but that cuff tag isn't even gaudy. It's just retarded.

What does everyone else think about the leather on the coin pocket? I kinda like it. Not sure how I feel about the back pocket embroidery...

I like both.

Leather coin pocket is nice I think. Back pocket stitching is so-so, I don't particularly like it, but it doesn't bother me either. What's the weight on these?

12oz?
That cuff tag detail is retarded and pointless, they fail at trying to be original with that one...

yes i got the 12oz version. california is not a particularly cold state so i saw no reason to upsize a few ounces and pay a lot more. the back pocket design kind of turned me off at first since it almost reminded me of the rediculously flashy design on the back of rock & repubs, but its small enough that it doesnt really bother me. about the cuff tag...i really didnt even notice it until i was taking the pictures above, kind of weird as i've never seen anything like it before, but i have yet to remove it. after wearing them for almost 2 days now, id say theres a small amount of stretch, so im glad i only sized down one size

I like the arcuate design on these. Its not easy to come up with an original design that looks good and isn't gaudy.

What? How does it remind you of Rock & Republic? We're talking two lines of thread vs. this:

dont ask me why. just reminds me? cant explain it. anywho these jeans are nicer and nicer as i wear them. only thing that bothers me are the blue fingers. cant go a few hours without my fingers turning blue since im always reaching into my pockets for my wallet/cell phone/keys

Kind of remind me of Garbstore with the little details. Missing garbstores pretty baller construction + lined reinforced waistband and all that.
