I've said it here before and I'll say it again, this Meta Catherina must have been the size of about 10 Titanics and was packed to the brim with skins. People have been selling shoes/watch straps/bags from the skins on this ship for 10 years that I have known of it (when I started getting into watches about 10 years ago, these straps were the rage), and probably before then. Someone ain't telling the truth.

Interesting.... it seems it was a cargo ship which was carrying alot of skin at the time... but still you are probably right they are using some really good lore to create hype.

FWIW I have one of their reindeer belts. A favorite piece.

I have a wallet and flask in it and find the story more appealing than the items themselves.

Doesn't Mr. Moo have a history with deer skin bags? He should order one, use it for a year, and then return it claiming that its not authentic.

flask, ok, that makes sense. cool story, etc, on a cool item.

flasks don't take abuse the way shoes do.

i don't understand why people want shoes made of out of it. the condition and durability of 200-year old leather is not gonna be anywhere near that of new high quality leather. its gonna either get beat up in no time, or live in your closet.

It's great as a show piece never meant to be used.

Well, I wear my shoes all the time and love'em:

Handle the leather and look at the products and you'll realize you don't know what you're talking about in this instance.

You'd need a valet to carry that around for you.

It's a great looking shoe, but show us a picture of it after being worn a few times.

I can't say the leather makes me want to run out and get a pair of shoes in it.
