I lived in the South for two years and went to an all-you-can-eat BBQ place every Thursday for lunch. I'm pretty sure I could complete this challenge easily.

When are you in NYC? I'm sure I can get a few of us NY SFers to pool the $65 to see this

I do not wish further encounters with BBQ meat to bring back images of severe pain, nausea, and desperate post consumption vomiting.

Sadly enough I believe I would have no problem eating this.

Plus, you are Chinese, which makes this a pretty average Sunday dimsum.

I could do this. Actually, it took longer than an hour, but I've eaten pretty close to 2 lbs of meat at a meal before. My Argentinian friends actually budget for 1.5 lbs of meat per guest at Argentinian style barbeques, and I typically eat more than my share, plus wine, plus bread, plus desert.

As an ethnic Chinese, I'm used to marathon meals, and have eaten my way fairly solidly for 3 hours. And my brother's godparents are Italian, which means that grew up eating all day meals as well. My brother once ate a tray of 24 cannoli in a single sitting. Thinking back, that's sort of surreal, but not really insane, considering that, for one feast, we started off with a light snack of grilled polenta and sausage, then followed up with a lasagna (lots of bechamel), followed by steaks and porkchops (I had 2 chops, and 1 steak), followed by Italian rumcake (and port for the grownups.)

Doubt I could do it. I've eaten 1lb of bacon and that was a lot.

I don't even want to try, I would rather eat to enjoy the food, not become sickened by it. I would love a free meal though

That's actually the question asked

It seems that many read "could you do it" but I was asking "would you"

Nah, I know I wouldn't be able to finish it. $65 is a lot to just feel like crap when it's all done.

Wouldn't even try. The potential costs ($65, all the unhealthiness, the sickness afterwards) far outweigh the potential benefits (getting to suffer through it for free).

I truly believe I can eat 2 lbs of meat plus sides, but food dares like this isn't my idea of fun.

Hill Country is a decent BBQ joint. I'd totally do it if I was still living in NYC. The meat and sides don't scare me; it's the 32oz drink that I worry about.

Nope. Wouldn't even want to try.

It always seems that Man vs Food is on while I work out at the gym. I get very hungry but also kinda grossed out by the sheer volume of food he packs away. I can't imagine how bloated I would feel just trying to eat anything close to that much food.
