^^ Those are the basics. Being paranoid, I'd say that most home users should still use precautions within a VM because their VM is likely on the same subnet as their main computer, which is probably directly connected to their cheap internet router/firewall/switch. I of course have my internal network intelligently subnetted to ensure complete isolation. Yes, that's another easy layup for ed.

Geek, what on earth are you doing that requires this level of secrecy/protection?

I have AV, firewalls and a router. Never had a problem.

I think two monitors for work would be very useful, but the gigantic one I have is already a problem for obscuring people on the other side of my desk (even though I have it perched on one corner) -- I am having trouble visualizing a lay-out that would avoid this problem.
