Ha! This reminds me of a scene I saw a few days ago from Seinfeld. I'm paraphrasing: The scene takes place at the diner, between Elaine and her date. Elaine: are you black? Date: what makes you think I was? Elaine: I don't know, I thought you were. Date: No, I'm not. I'm Jewish. Are you Jewish? Elaine: No, I'm not. I'm white. Date: This doesn't make us an interracial couple then. Elaine: Let's go to the Gap. Date: Ok.

I've noticed Asians tend to populate The Gap, Banana Republic, Armani Exchange, and oddly the A&F.

Seems rather expensive to be sold as 'basics' - at least here in the UK. But then, we do get ripped off on everything over here. A Gap hoodie, from memory, runs at about the equivalent of $70-$80 retail.

For basics, H&M and Zara provide a far better product at a lower price. I'm also fond of American Apparel, but they're still around $55 for a hoodie in their London store.

As white as a man of Baltic European ancestry can get, never shopped at the Gap. I'm no fan of their offerings but I can see that they fill a role.

A&F, on the other hand, should be burned store by store.

I shop anywhere I judge the price to be right. If the item seems to be decent quality for the money, I'll buy it. Gap? Sure. Old Navy? No problem. Big Lots? Absolutely. (Well, not often at Big Lots, but I have found some Gold Toe socks there.)

I have not yet begun to defile myself.

I've long since suppressed any memories I might have had of shopping at the gap.

Not white, and I don't really shop at the Gap. Maybe a T-shirt or a scarf once in a blue moon. I have probably just 2 or 3 Gap items in my entire wardrobe.

Yes.

Not white, don't shop there. I don't really see anything special there. Plus, everyone in the goddamn universe seems to have jeans from there so it's quite unoriginal.

I'm kind of the same way. I shop everywhere, though I haven't bought anything of note from Gap in years.

So, have we got any statisticians to number-crunch the data in the poll (probably needs a t-test?) to figure out if there's a significant difference between the two groups.

Yes the data's all biased but hey, it's a bit of fun, right?

I'm so white, I bought a hoodie on sale there today! ($15)
