Scarves, How is the proper way to wear them with a casual button up shirt with no tie. Likely wearing a military jacket or a pea coat overtop.

Also how do you chose a scarf color.

There's a million ways to wear them, but I prefer a few times around the neck with the ends around back, not in front. Ends always inside the jacket unless you feel flamboyant. I think scarves are a chance to bring a punch of color into drab winter outerwear without becoming silly, so the sky's the limit with casual scarves. Just buy them appropriate for the season. Wool for winter, cotton or silk for fall/spring. Dress scarves are another ballgame.

Don't do anything until they're broken in. They're already treated. A shoe tree is to keep the shape of shoes. For casual boots like those, it's a little silly unless you're storing them long-term.

Once worn and scuffed, avoid colored polish unless the scuffing is deep and you hate the leather color showing.

Use clear/non-colored Kiwi polish for a shine or Mink Oil for a satin sheen, water-proofing and to keep the leather soft. Others might recommend Obenauffs'

Thanks, Ill keep it in mind. I thought thought maybe it would be neccessaryy to absorb the moisture, but maybe its not a big deal with the thick ass socks I wear with it. Anything I should do to help deal with the salt that all over chicago this time of year? And can I find mink oil at normal cobblers or nice shoe shops?

Found a cheap blazer today that was slightly longer in the body and was the same material as a pea coat, can this be worn as a coat instead of a blazer?

Mink oil is great to apply asap for winter protection. It helps break in too (at least in my exp.) Find it with the shoe polish in most major drug stores. Bigger tin. Kiwi and some other brands make it. Use sparingly and follow directions on tin. I pity your sorry ass in Chi-town in Feb... ;-)

Beware of drug store bought shoe products. They can often be filled with a lot of synthetic shit, same thing with the mink oil.

If they're expensive shoes, I would recommend spending a little extra money to get some quality leather products.

Hi guys,

Can anything be done to clean up suede shoes that have gone a bit scrappy? I used a suede brush on a pair of desert boots and now they've got "long hairs", so to speak.

the gap v's are abt $12/ea or like $20/2. Not a great price, but they're pretty nice lightweight and fitted. Urban is doing their house-brand v neck about the same deal.

H&M is dumping theirs for killer cheap at like $5.99/ea, but they only have about five colors.
