What exactly are j shaped pants? I've seen a pic of them folded and can see the J shape, I just don't understand the difference it makes when wearing them.

the outside curve of the j is longer than the inside curve of the j. therefore when worn the longer outside part (because of the extra fabric) bunches up and 'stacks', in doing so you can create stacks just about anywhere you want, not just around the ankles.

NEW QUESTION:

 

A few years back, I bought a cheapo cotton/linen blend grayish black sport coat to use for slightly dressed up casual occasions in the summer, generally with jeans, sometimes chinos.  I had it altered to where I like the fit.  I'm a tough fit, so this is an undertaking. 

 

However, the single vent in the back doesn't stay closed, I think because of the material.  I don't think it is overly tapered at the waist, I can nearly get a whole fist in at the waist.  The corners of the material at the vent sort of curve out, which I think is very unflattering since it makes my bottom wider than my chest.

 

Do I have options?  Possible to make it a ventless jacket?  I'd like to salvage it if I can.

You can definitely have the vent closed if you want. That is not a difficult alteration for a tailor.

Looking for a dark coloured black or charcoal scarf to go with a TOJ double rider jacket and brown bomber

Looking at my first pair of leather-boots, but since I'm just 16 it's not like I have LOADS of money.
But I've found one pair of boots that are absolutely gorgeus, and I think I could get the money necessary aswell.
So, do you think, that if I take care of them, that the Allen Edmonds Dalton would be good pair of boots that I can use for many years to come?(and that they'll get a nice "aged" look?)

Well, honestly, I wasn't really thinking about getting them right now since, as you said exactly, my feet will likely grow bigger. (but i forgot to mention that)

But still, because Im interested, would they be a good purchase (in that price range)? or would you recommend something else?
