Yeah. Box pleats are there for motion, and you're slimming something down with darts (which restricts motion) so the top block will probably be too blousy. If you're getting it tailored ask for the box pleat to be removed, it may be extra.

Isn't removing the box pleat a big project? What is your opinion on stitching the box pleat all the way to the hem a la BoO?

Removing a box pleat is work, but it shouldn't be that expensive. I've never done a full box pleat like that but BoO suffers from the same problem. If you look at BoO fits, sometimes the top is billowy while the waist is slim. Depends on your shoulders, I guess. I don't have small shoulders so BoO fits me fine, but Gitman box pleats cause a lot of blousing. Just talk to your tailor

I'm having my mom tailor stuff to save $, lol (she's been sewing for years). My issue with this shirt is that the top block fits but it billows out at the waist.

ranger before you do anything crazy, can you return them? most places i can think of that sell n&f will at least offer store credit

having a tailor mess w the waist is a dangerous road, even worse w 21 oz (as someone already said)

you can try hot wash/machine dry but they might not shrink enough for your liking, and it would prob hurt resale value

otoh theyre not gonna stretch much either (21 oz) and thats a cut that can look good sized up a bit;
maybe post a fit pic b4 looking into alternatives?

Slightly big, if you're in between sizes you can size down if you want them to fit slimmer.

Can anyone help me find this polo? It was shown in a late 2010 issue of GQ magazine as part of the 2011 Spring Preview. GQ says it's a Gant by Michael Bastian polo but I couldn't find it on their site under their s/s 2011 section.
