I agree, never hold an item. First to pay wins. If it's someone who is reliable or a repeat customer, give them more customer service.

They look like they are either oakwood suede or taupe suede. If I had to guess which, probably taupe suede.

Thoughts on the Wool Sperry's? I'm 90% convinced that these are badass w/ some chinos. I need to know if I'm being ridiculous.

Sizing up to XL would help but the torso would be too baggy. Would the NY equivalent have longer sleeves?

They are different sizing. They have signs in store that say some shirts are Japanese sizing and suggested people go up at least one size. I did that and the shirts ended up a little too wide in the chest and body. I had to get it tailored.

OK I'm still confused.....I have read thread upon thread and looked at tons of pics. Cant figure out "my look". Looking for a Will Smith thing kinda sorta. Im 6'2...210lbs, athletically built. 44l sport coat...35 inch waist (but sometimes have to size up because of athletic glutes and thighs). I am lean but built...you can tell i work out.

Can you all make some suggestions for Jeans/t-shirts/polos/shoes.

Dont wanna break the back so please suggest moderately priced pieces....or ones that will go on sale.

Find a dealer that sells Chippewa boots in the UK? Iirc, chippewa is the manufacturer, and there should be a corresponding chippewa boot.

Second alternative - look at UK shoe/bootmakers; take a trip to the factory stores in Northampton and see if you get lucky and find something in suede/roughout with some version of an Itshtide sole.

Any thoughts as to which is the better buy? Am thinking of getting a pair of navy leather shoes.

Grenson would be discounted about $148, MacNeil would be discounted to about slightly more than half retail (about $180). Both have been on my radar for the past half-year.

Link to picture of Grenson William in Navy

Link to AE page of MacNeil

Pros and Cons -

1) I know the MacNeil will fit me - I already have a Shell Cordo MacNeil that gets frequent wear in size 10.5D. The Grenson is apparently a G fitting, so I am not sure if I should drop a full size or a size and half (to 9.5 G or to 9G).

2) The Grenson is a balmoral wingtip, the MacNeil is a longwing

3) The Grenson has white contrast stitching and a natural/redding brown color sole edge, the MacNeil is tonal stitching and either a navy or black sole edge.

4) Would probably be wearing casually more often than not.

Thoughts?
