Your tailor can do two things. If you don't want to lose the selvedge, they can open up the out seam and pull the the sides out to create the taper, but then you end up with a really wide selvedge line. Or they can cut it and re-sewn which you'll end up lose the selvedge lines.

It is possible to taper on the inseam, not just the outseam. Most specialized denim tailors taper this way. It might not come out exactly the same as tapering on the outseam, but it actually works well.

I'm looking to pick up my first pair of raw denim. For a while, i've been set on APC, but I was just wondering what other people thought would be a good entry level pair? My budget is <$200.

Too many brands out there. Don't get APC for that price. Check SF affiliates and B&S, too many deals to be had out there than some Chinese made shiz.

I could only find a pair of raw black SPURR selvage, how's the quality of their denim for $60? Edit: How's the quality of NFY by Notify jeans? They seem to be the cut I want (straight with a slight taper) and only $50
post #4344 of 15735
Definitely buy the Spurrs over NFYs

SPURR denim is absolutely amazing for $60. If the cut works out for you then by all means get it. If there's one thing that I think SPURR does right across the board, it's fabric.

Is there a thread with links/info on where to buy certain brands? Sufu has one that is slighty kept up with but an up to date one would be nice

Thanks guys, I'm just looking to contact him now for the transaction. I was more in the market for a pair of raw indigo, but I guess black will do for that price.

Looks AT LEAST one size too big. Sweatpants probably aren't helping though.

Your left ear looks to be in severe pain...
