They must not have heard of MTM. Thinking they can pay $200+ dollar for a "high-end' OTR shirt while you can pay $100- and get a shirt custom made exactly the way you want.

I never paid retail for any of my BoO shirts, but people buy what they buy. A MTM shirt won't always result in a better fabric, fit, etc. necessarily unless you nail your dimensions right and they are translated to the shirt properly (especially via online MTM), plus many don't have the patience for MTM so if BoO fits their aesthetic well and it's more readily available, then people do that. Some like to stick to brands too. If you found a winning fit/fabric/etc. from MTM and it works for you then all is well right?

can the legs be re-hemmed to make it smaller? have to open up the sides and cut off some fabric?
has anyone tried?

As others have been commenting, they can be taken in, but might run you more than $10 from a true tailor and not from a dry cleaners. Personally I don't care what the deal is, I won't alter the fit of jeans especially selvage, but that's a personal preference no matter the deal. The final cost after alterations might come out to the same price of another pair that is the right fit/cut you want. So many jean options out there at costs from low to high, I don't see why anyone would buy a bootcut to make it a slim. I would ditch the experiment and find the right pair for what you're looking for IMO.

Two quick questions..

Who makes good drapey not TOO long cardigans? i want to keep a slim silhouette. buttons are optional

Also anyone know anything about construction or quality of yigal azrouel? i like some of his pieces but since hes expensive i'd like to know before i cop if i cop.

I was curious of Yigal as well as I think a few of his knits were nice from this season. I've heard the quality is good but don't have first hand experience. I know I won't pay near those retail prices for his pieces though. Check the "Epicurean Knits thread" as a member there posted a sweater that looked great and maybe send him a PM.

Is it the alpaca or pima version you're looking for? I just sold mine yesterday, but check the stockists and start searching there.

If you are wear a blazer with a boot, go with something more classic. Not distressed boot with a curved toe box.

if i wanna buy something off b&s, which option do i choose?

under purchase it says goods

under personal it says gift, payment owed and other

just listing the ones i think are relevent
post #4077 of 16525
Never gift unless you have purchased from the seller before or it's a reputable member. otherwise just add the 4% for your own safety.

This is a part of the dutch street culture. What do you think?

so do i choose goods, payment owed, or other? and choosing one of these three options will have the 4% automatically tacked on, yes?

and if the trade goes south, what do i do to get the money back with the 4% payed to paypal?

sorry for these noob questions, couldn't find them after searching the forums for a while

Don't do personal payments. Goods is fine. You'll have to add 4% more. If it does go south, you can file a claim with paypal. I have not had problems yet, but with lots of noobs on b&s lately and some apparent scams, I suggest you take pre cautions.
