Half size down should be good. I'm a US8 and my 7.5 DBs fit very comfortably.

very easy. I've ordered through 2nd via rakuten a few times, twice for myself and once to proxy a bunch of jeans to people since it was easier for me to order then ship within the U.S.

It's pretty reasonable and shipping is fast but you'll want to order at least $250 to make it worth your while. I probably have old emails PM me if you need more help.

Rakuten is not a single entity, it's made up of hundreds of stores, each sets their own shipping policy

Thanks for your replies. I am talking of jean shop Vari which has a store on Rakuten and the link in my OP referred to it.

I guess I will give it a try. It is definitely cheaper than US based shops and shipping price is reasonable.

I have a 2 button blue blazer from Brooks that came w/ brass buttons, which I quickly swapped out for dark plastic. Now I'm thinking that it'd be cool to spruce up the look and swap these out for light-to-medium horn buttons, but I have no idea where to find them. Are there any good textile shops in NYC that'd carry a large variety of suit buttons or a tailor that might have a decent selection?

Yes, just got some Flat Heads through Second (2nd) via Rakuten. Rakuten passes your order on to the retailer who has stock, so your experience may vary, but my experience was fantastic dealing with one of the very helpful staff at the store via email. Except he spoke no English. Other than some work on my end online translating the Japanese/Engrish order confirmations and 2nd's request that I paypal the money as a first-time buyer, the service and responsiveness was exemplary, I had the jeans in three days with no additional customs fees. I felt very secure with the transaction. Also, FYI, I seem to now be getting occasional Japanese spam, but not enough to be annoying.
