I supplied the postage receipt, with his name and address, showing weight and dimension as well as cost, insurance, my name and address and his. As well as digital records of the package being delivered AND signed for by the recipient. And I lost. So now the kid has my shoes and got his $150 back.
I'd advise to ALWAYS go through eBay.

There's a difference though in that you were the seller not the buyer. The guy who asked the question is the buyer. Ebay is notorious for always siding with the buyer in disputes. Ebay also owns paypal so I doubt using them would make any difference as opposed to just going through paypal.

Large, for sure. That's about 59cm equivalent; Mediums usually run 56-58cm.

If I strip out all the color of my rubber boots using alcohol wipes by accident. Is there an easy way to restore them?

Would using some sort of leather color polish work?

Hi! I wonder if stores offering VAT removal normally can do this even if they ship to an EU address, if you're home address (and address on bank card) is outside EU? Støy Munkholm offered this for me once, hadn't thought about it myself. Would make things much better of course.

Greetings,

I am a 26, soon to be 27 year old male, living in one of the outer boroughs of New York City. I started my journey with Styleforum sometime in late August, because I was tired of dressing like my former 17 year old self. You know, the basic inner city guy wardrobe; baggy Ecko jeans, t-shirts that were too big, basketball sneakers, jean shorts, ect.

So, I decided to purge (almost) everything in my closet and start over.

I read up on Fall and Winter outfits and decided to pick up several button downs, sweaters, Suagr Cane denim that fit me correctly, and a pair of Red Wing boots (3141). I had no issues with regards to shopping and matching clothes, and am very happy with my selection thus far.

However, this all falls apart for me when it comes to Spring and Summer.

For the life of me, I am at a loss with regard to what colors, outfits, and shoes I should get. I'm looking for items that can be mixed and matched thereby offering the most versatility. Granted, I did my research on the forum and performed a plethora of other searching for outfits I would like, but no dice. The reason this falls apart for me is because I lack creativity, and never really had an eye for what colors matched what.

It would mean a lot to me if you could point me in the right direction as to what my next purchase(s) should be. I have put together an album of items just waiting to be purchased from various websites, minus the Red Wing 3141, polo shirts, and jeans; which I already own. What do you think? I'm open to thoughts, feedback, crtique, ect.

Bear in mind, I work in a professional office setting Monday through Friday – slacks, dress shirt, tie. This means the clothes I'm looking to pick up in the album would strictly be after hours, weekend, and days off use. I’m not looking for a preppy look, but at the same time am looking to dress more maturely, if that makes sense.

I thank you for your time and feedback.

I'm looking for an excuse to wear the navy suit I recently purchased. Unfortunately I rarely have an occasion to wear formal attire.

Do you gentlemen think it would be tasteful to dress it down for a Valentines Day dinner at a "nicer" restaurant?

The suit is currently getting a couple alterations done (so no pics at the moment), but this is what i'm thinking;

Dark navy suit

Burgundy AE sanfords/belt

Petal pink Ralph Lauren dress shirt. No tie. top 2 buttons unbuttoned.

White pocket square, subtle pink lining.

Thoughts on this combination? Would a very subtle light pink lapel flower pin be appropriate?

Thanks!

I personally have not purchased any shoes from them, but they seem to have some good products that will be similar to the shoes in question. (I have heard good things from them) Let me know what you think.

I think you may be slightly over-thinking Spring and Summer :). Here is the opinion of a 20 year old guy living in Indiana, so if you disregard my opinion it is understandable lol..

spring/summer is about colors and simplicity.

The checkered casual button up shirts you included in the album should be purchased without hesitation.

The shoes are a definite no-go imho. I think the NB are far overpriced and are limited in what they can be worn with. I just dont think they would look nice with 90% of shorts. If you want sneakers I would check out Nike Roshe Runs for $70.

You have the right idea with the chino shorts. I however would go for more length. 9' is really short. I purchased probably 7 different colored pairs of chino shorts from JCpenney's last season for under $12 each and they were probably my best purchase of the season. For jcp they are good quality/fit.

Cant go wrong with the BB polos.

I almost hate to suggest it, but as a replacement for the shoes I would just stick with a couple different colors of sperrys. I'm presuming they are a little more 'college' than you are going for, but they would pair nicely with the polos/button ups/khaki shorts.

hope I offered something useful:fistbump: GL

Thank you for taking the time to response, I appreciate it!

I was wondering what colors/style of Sperrys you would suggest? I am on their wbesite now, but there are way too many to decide from. What colors/styles would be safe "all-around-go-to's" for you?

I would stick to the authentic originals http://www.sperrytopsider.com/en/authentic-original-boat-shoe/10118M.html?dwvar_10118M_color=0197640#cgid=men-shoes-boat-shoes&start=1

I own a pair of the sahara leathers and oatmeals. (I got the sahara's off ebay for $40 new)

The oatmeal color is lighter and thus a little more versatile. They pair with chino shorts perfectly imo. I've also been wearing both sperrys often this season with nice slim jeans and shirts. Very casual but clean.

I think they would be difficult to wear with chino pants but i'm sure it can be done. I've also seen people with the tan and classic brown sperrys and they look good.

If you've never owned sperrys before I suggest you try a pair on in a store before ordering any. They are meant to fit more like a glove and completely different from sneakers. I'm an 11 in nearly everything, but a 9 1/2 in sperrys

Hey guys,

Having a little trouble figuring out what shoes to wear/buy to wear with black skinny jeans - right now I have some 403 Indys I usually wear with them, or some dark brown suede PTBs, but otherwise I'm at a loss of what to pair. Anyone have any recs on some black low top shoes that are versatile and would look okay? Thanks in advance

Hi, not sure if this has been answered...
I just purchased a pair of 3Sixteens, but want a smaller leg opening (I have a hard time finding denim that fits around my thighs). Is this an easy task for a tailor, or does this need to be sent somewhere special (not sure if SelfEdge provides this service, but I live in SF so would be easy to get there)

Thanks!
