Am I wrong? What's your opinion on stuff that comes out of China in terms of quality and more importantly value for money? What percentage of the clothes and accessories you buy come from the People's Republic?

So I guess the bottom line is, should I really care if something is made in China especially when it's a little more pricey? Not expensive, just not cheap?

Many of the world's top brands now have their stuff made in China. There is no reason why people with the same training using the same machines and same inputs can't produce the same product. That said, there are some handcrafted products that require specialized training and years of experience which are not as easily recreated. Also, there is an argument to made to support local businesses. Should you avoid stuff made in Bangladesh or Sri Lanka because of slave labour wages and conditions?

true dat! Best example: My Merz B Schwanen Tee, awesome Fabrics and very well made details

But on the other Hand, my AA stuff just looks like stuff made in Asia but in fact it's made in the USA. China isn't the worst country anymore when it comes to working. Countries like Bangladesh, Pakistan etc. have a more serious problem, people are unemployed and uneducated. Big brands like H&M use that to really "milk" those people out. Stay away from those big resellers and you are good to go!

I am looking for a black leather boot in the $300 range. E.g., something that would work with black leather jacket and dark jeans.  In terms of refinement or clunkiness, not as clunky as Red Wings but not as sleek as a Chelsea boot.  Any suggestions?  Thanks.

Hey guys!

I am a student and I have like all hoodies. I want to transition out of this. In fact, I need to. If I were to have one jacket, what would that jacket be? I live in California so it is pretty hot year round, so no bombers/thick stuff. Specific items/links would be nice and also lower price, the better. Preferably around $100.

Thanks!

Hey everyone,

I just graduated from college and now transitioning from streetwear to more of a menswear look. I have a suit from Zara but am looking for another one from a different brand.

Can anyone recommend some good places/brands to get a nice tailored suit and a nice pair of dress shoes? (As well as some good fitted dress shirts and slim ties).

For dress shoes I was thinking Paul Smith. I live in LA and I go out a lot so I need to upgrade my closet.

Thanks

By that I meant so if there's recommended shops to look at, then I can drive there and check it out in person. But also yes, gotta love LA.

Can anybody recommend a nice Mandarin collar jacket? Shanghai Tang makes several models, but want to look around for other options

I know Ervell had one a few seasons back, and I believe Rag&Bone used to have a couple of models...
